| This is our second solid copper fire pit deck unit. The first one lasted outside, used at least 75 times a year for 7 years. This is a very sturdy, safe copper fire pit bowl. The bowl is high enough off the deck that we have used a bbq mat from Ace hardware and the deck does not even get warm to the touch underneath. The opening screen is the only way to go, it makes loading safe (no hot screen swinging around), and easy. We just bought the new one because the copper stared to get a little thiner than I liked, and the steel grate was warped after some rather large fires. Good Stuff, very happy with this firepit copper unit. |

| Since we got this patio fire pit last year we've extended our backyard season. Sets a nice atmosphere and gives you just enough extra warmth to enjoy the early fall evenings. | We have had this large copper fire pit for about a month now and have had fires in it several times already. We have cooked sandwiches and pies in pie irons and toasted marshmallows, and of course, just sat and watched the flames dancing in the night. We live in Ohio and the evenings are cool enough to enjoy the fire. Since we leave this sitting on our contrete patio at all times, I did drill holes in the bottom of the copper bowl with a masonry bit to allow water to drain out. And I particularly wanted one that had a screen that you could open to add more wood.
You could sit for hours watching the fire ebb and flame through the mesh like screen attachment, which is like watching a movie in 3-D, while feeling the heat on your face and along the long sweep of your legs as, cross-legged, you meditate on the sand or on the rugged crabgrass of your backyard barbeque area. Don't be surprised when nearby forest animals, such as squirrels or rabbits, approach cautiously, drawn by the spectacle and the concomitant promise of warmth. Much easier than trying to remove a hot screen. This is a sturdy and attractive 30 inch copper fire pit. We plan on using it until winter and then will store it in the garage.
